Acorus

VARIETIES: 	Japanese sweet flag - A. gramineus, also called A. japonicus

MAXIMUM HEIGHT:	8 - 12 inches (20 - 30 cm)

SUBSTRATE:	1 part peat moss, 1 part loam, 1 part sharp sand
						
LIGHT: 		Prefers direct sunlight for more that 4 hours per day.
	
TEMPERATURE: 	Night = 40 - 55°F (15 - 18°C)
		Day = 65°F but will tolerate a temperature range from
		40 - 80°F

WATERING: 	Keep soil wet at all times.

FERTILIZING: 	Wait 6 months to fertilize new plants, 
		Mature plants - fertilize at 6 month intervals

PROPAGATING:	Any season. Divide the rhizomes, the thickened roots from which
		the leaves sprout.
