VARIETIES: 	Japanese aucuba - A. japonica

MAXIMUM HEIGHT:	3 feet or more

SUBSTRATE:	1 part loam, 1 part peat moss or leaf mold, 1 part sharp sand.
		To each gallon pailfull of this mixture add:
		- 1½ teaspoons of 20% superphosphate
		- 1 tablespoon of ground lime-stone
		- 2 teaspoons of 5-10-5 fertilizer.
		OR! use general purpose potting soil.
						
LIGHT: 		Prefers bright indirect or curtain filtered sunlight.
		Or where only artificial light is available, be sure to provide 
		at least 400 foot-candles.
			
TEMPERATURE: 	Night = 40 - 55°F (4 - 13°C)
		Day = 65°F (18°C) or lower
		
WATERING: 	Keeps soil barely moist at all times.

HUMIDITY:	High relative humidity or at least 40%.
		
FERTILIZING: 	Wait 4 - 6 months to fertilize new plants, 
		Mature plants - fertilize at 3 - 4 month intervals.

PROPAGATING:	Propagate from root cutting at any season.

REPOTTING:	Early spring.
