VARIETIES: 	Peacock plant - C. makoyana
		
MAXIMUM HEIGHT:	1-2 feet

SUBSTRATE:	1 part peat moss or leaf mold, 1 part perlite or vermiculite, 1 part sharp
		sand and ½ part well-rotted or dried cow manure.
		Otherwise, use potting soil formulated for African violets.	
							
LIGHT: 		Prefers indirect or curtain-filtered sunlight.
		Or where only artificial light is available, be sure to provide 
		at least 400 foot-candles.
			
TEMPERATURE: 	Night = 65 - 70°F (18 - 21°C)
		Day = 75 - 85°F (24 - 29°C)

WATERING: 	Keep soil moist

HUMIDITY:	Do best in a terrarium. Humidity is best at 50%. To reach this, place the
		pot in a tray with pebbles and water so that the pot doesn't sit the water 
		but evaporation will increase the humidity directly around the plant.
		
FERTILIZING: 	Wait 3 months to fertilize new plants, 
		Mature plants - fertilize every 2 weeks with standard house-plant fertilizer
				diluted to half the recommended strength.

REPOTTING:	Divide roots and repot during early spring.
