Chlorophytum

VARIETIES: 	Spider, ribbon or bracket plant - C. comosum also called
			Anthericum comosum and Anthericum sternbergianum
		
MAXIMUM HEIGHT:	Leaves from 4 - 16 inches. Fleshy wiry roots can reach up to 2 feet.

SUBSTRATE:	1 part loam, 1 part leaf mold or peat moss, 1 part sharp sand
		To each gallon pailfull of this mixture add: 
		- 1½ teaspoons of 20% superphosphate
		- 1 tablespoon of ground lime-stone
		- 2 teaspoons of 5-10-5 fertilizer.
		OR! use general all purpose potting soil
		
LIGHT: 		Prefers direct sunlight
		Or where artificial and natural light average 400 foot-candles.
			
TEMPERATURE: 	Night = 50 - 55°F (16 - 18°C)
		Day = 68 - 72°F (20 - 22°C)

WATERING: 	Spring - Fall: Allow soil to soil to become moderately dry between
		thorough waterings.
		Winter: Water only enough to prevent the leaves from shriveling.

FERTILIZING: 	Wait 4 months to fertilize new plants, 
		Mature plants - fertilize at 3 - 4 month intervals

PROPAGATING:	Any season from plantlets along the stem or by dividing the roots.

REPOTTING:	Should not have to repot for several years.
		But when overcrowded, repot in any season.
