VARIETIES: 	Holly fern - C. falcatum, also called Aspidium falcatum
				
MAXIMUM HEIGHT:	1 - 2 feet.

SUBSTRATE:	1 part loam, 1 part peat moss or leaf mold, 1 part sharp sand, 1 part
		finely ground fir bark.
		To each gallon pailfull of this mixture add 2 tablespoons of bone meal.
		OR! a mixture composed of 1 part general purpose potting soil, 1 part
			peat moss or leaf mold.
						
LIGHT: 		Does best in the shadowless light of a north window. Or in areas where only
		artificial light is available, be sure to provide at least 150 foot 
		candles.
			
TEMPERATURE: 	Night = 50 - 55°F (10 - 13°C)
		Day = 68 - 72°F (20 - 22°C)
		Will tolerate temperatures as low as 35°F (2°C)
		
WATERING: 	Keep soil barely moist at all times.

HUMIDITY:	Will tolerate dry air.

FERTILIZING: 	Wait 6 months before fertilizing newly purchased plants.
		Mature plants - fertilize every 6 months with standard house-plant
			fertilizer diluted to half the recommended strength.

PROPAGATING:	Propagate in early spring from spores or by dividing the roots.

REPOTTING:	Early spring. Make sure the new soil level is at the same level it
		was previously grown in.
