VARIETIES: 	Sentry or Curly palm - H. belmoreana, also called Kentia belmoreana
		Paradise, flat or thatchleaf palm - H. forsteriana, also called
					Kentia forsteriana

MAXIMUM HEIGHT:	Grow 6 - 8 inches per year and may outgrow their space.

SUBSTRATE:	1 part loam, 1 part peat moss or leaf mold, 1 part sharp sand, 
		and ½ part well-rotted or dried cow manure.
		To each gallon pailfull of this mixture add 2 tablespoons of bone meal. 
		OR! use highly organic potting soil specially formulated for african
		violets.
						
LIGHT: 		Prefers at least 4 hours of direct sunlight per day. If only artificial
		light is available, provide at least 400 foot candles.
			
TEMPERATURE: 	Night = 60 - 65°F (16 - 18°C)
		Day = 75 - 85°F (24 - 29°C)
		
WATERING: 	Keep soil barely moist at all times.

FERTILIZING: 	Wait 4 - 6 months before fertilizing newly purchased plants.
		Mature plants - fertilize every month from early spring to fall.
				Do not feed for the rest of the year.

PROPAGATING:	Propagate from seed at any season.

REPOTTING:	Do well in small containers and rarely need repotting.
