Pleomele

VARIETIES: 	Narrow-leaved pleomele - P. angustifolia honoriae,
		Song of India pleomele - P. reflexa 'Song of India'
		
MAXIMUM HEIGHT:	Can reach heights of 4 feet or more.

SUBSTRATE:	1 part loam, 1 part peat moss or leaf mold, 1 part sharp sand.
		To each gallon pailfull of this mixture add:
		- 1½ teaspoons of 20% superphosphate
		- 1 tablespoon of ground lime-stone
		- 2 teaspoons of 5-10-5 fertilizer.
		OR! use general purpose potting soil.
						
LIGHT: 		Prefers bright indirect or curtain-filtered sunlight.
		Or where only artificial light is available, be sure to provide 
		at least 400 foot-candles.
					
TEMPERATURE: 	Night = 65 - 70°F (18 - 21°C)
		Day = 75 - 85°F (24 - 29°C)

WATERING: 	Keep the soil barely moist at all times.

HUMIDITY:	50% or more. To achieve this, rest the pot on some stones
		in a dish filled with water. Make sure the water does not submerge
		the stones and touch the bottom of the pot. This will increase the 
		humidity directly around the plant due to the evaporation of the
		water in the dish.

FERTILIZING: 	Wait 4-6 months to fertilize new plants, 
		Mature plants - fertilize at 3 - 4 month intervals using standard house
			plant fertilizer diluted to half of its recommended strength.
			
PROPAGATING:	Propagate any season from stem cuttings.

REPOTTING:	Early spring.
