Laurentii Snake plants

Sansevieria

VARIETIES: 	Sansevieria, bowstring hemp, mother-in-law tongue, snake plant -
			S. trifasciata, also called S. zebrina
		
MAXIMUM HEIGHT:	18 - 20 inches

SUBSTRATE:	1 part loam, 1 part peat moss or leaf mold, 1 part sharp sand.
		To each gallon pailfull of this mixture add:
		- 1½ teaspoons of 20% superphosphate
		- 1 tablespoon of ground lime-stone
		- 2 teaspoons of 5-10-5 fertilizer.
		OR! use general purpose potting soil.
						
LIGHT: 		Will do well in almost any light condition. From low to high.
		Or where only artificial light is available, be sure to provide 
		at least 150 foot-candles.
					
TEMPERATURE: 	Night = 65 - 70°F (18 - 21°C)
		Day = 75 - 85°F (24 - 29°C)

WATERING: 	SPRING-FALL: Allow soil to become moderately dry between thorough waterings.
		WINTER: Water only enough to prevent the plant fro shriveling
		
FERTILIZING: 	Wait 3-4 months to fertilize new plants, 
		Mature plants - fertilize at 3-4 month intervals from early spring until
			late fall.
			
PROPAGATING:	Propagate any season by stem cuttings and rooting them in sand. However
		this method will not work for Laurentii variety (variety with a thick
		yellow boarder along the leaf length).

REPOTTING:	Any season. But usually does not need repotting for 3 - 5 years.
