VARIETIES: 	Burro's or Donkey's tail - S. morganianum
				
MAXIMUM HEIGHT:	1½ feet long

SUBSTRATE:	1 part loam, 1 part leaf mold, 1 part sharp sand, and 
		½ part crushed charcoal.
		OR! use an equal mixture of general potting soil and sharp sand.
		To each pail full of either mixture, add:
		- 1 tablespoon of bone meal
		- 1 tablespoon of ground lime-stone
								
LIGHT: 		4 or more hours per day of light.
		Or where only artificial and natural light exposure averages
		at least 1000 foot-candles over 12 hours per day.
		But also grow well in bright indirect light.
	
TEMPERATURE: 	Night = 50 - 55°F (10 - 13°C)
		Day = 75 - 85°F  (24 - 29°C)
				
WATERING: 	SPRING-FALL: Allow soil to become moderately dry between thorough waterings.
		WINTER: Water only enough to prevent the plant from shriveling.

FERTILIZING: 	Do not fertilize new plants for one year.
		Mature Plants: Fertilize 3 times a year; early spring, late spring, 
				and late summer. Do not fertilize the remainder of the 
				year.
PROPAGATING:	Propagate at any season by inserting the bottom of and entire leaf into sand.

REPOTTING: 	Barely need repotting.
