Watering Your Plants

You should check your particular plant to see proper watering instructions, and make sure that you follow the watering instructions carefully. Watering your plants is the most important thing you can do for them. You will find that a properly watered plant will grow healthily and live a long, happy life. Generally, plants in the home do not require as much water as plants grown outside. As a rule of thumb, water your plants when the top inch of the soil is dry, and always make sure water is uniformly distributed over the soil surface. If you feel really ambitious you can place your plant in a bucket of water until the soil is drenched, then drain it. Always be aware of the level of moisture in the plant soil. Soil that is too moist will cause root rot, and soil that is too dry will cause your plant to drop its leaves. When watering your plants you should make sure the water is at room temperature. Some plants require soft water. You can obtain soft water by collecting rain water or by boiling tap water and allowing it to cool to room temperature before using. Happy watering!
